Description

Students simulate the DARPA Grand Challenge with the award-winning robotics technology LEGO Mindstorms.

Storming Robots SumoBuild and program an unmanned vehicle that will race on a treacherous terrain, uphill, through speed bumps, dark tunnels, and more.  Students will build a robot from scratch and program it to make the vehicle come alive, offering truly rewarding fun. You will learn to handle some mechanics difficulties and computer programming issues that even advanced users with industrial-level machines and software encounter.

Learn how the formation of gears systems affect speed and torque of your robotics system by using the application of math concepts. This challenge provides plenty of creative time and opportunities to hone analysis skills  and critical thinking.

Prerequisites:

  • Must enjoy challenging the mind and being creative.
  • Must enjoy mathematics.
  • Must be willing and able to work with others.
