Founder - Dennis Mabrey
robotics workshop instructor Dennis has had over ten years of system and application level software engineering experience in the highly competitive software development industry.  He has great passion in just about anything challenging in computer industry.  Throughout his years as senior software consultant, he has made significant contribution and taken leading roles in some very high profile companies' both software and hardware infrastructure.  Dennis received B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Delaware.   
 
Founder - Elizabeth Mabrey
robotics workshop instructor Elizabeth is the founder of the unique “Storming Robots” Robotics Technology Learning Center, which is the only Authorized LEGO Mindstorms Center in NJ. She has over fourteen years of system level software engineering experience in the highly competitive software development industry. She received her M.S. in Computer Science from Drexel U.

With her technical experiences and being a parent of 3 self-motivated academic achievers, she strongly believes in the importance of nurturing children's creativity, enforcing academic and personal disciplines, and strengthening their critical thinking skills, teamwork, communication and leadership skills. 

She believes in using robotics curriculum as a great tool to help our children to meet the unpredictable challenges in the future global market by focusing on the development of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics as the core foundation for our children academic and intellectual development.

Jeffrey Goett:

Jeff has been our robotics instructor at Storming Robots since 2008. Being a certified High School Science/Physics Teacher, he is currently teaching Physics, and the school robotic team coach at the Franklin Township High School. His passion in science teaching is just simply infectious.  He volunteered to teach computer applications and accounting classes to underserved high school students through the Jesuit Volunteer Corps.  He earned his M.S. in Physics at the Rutgers University.

Suhagi Shah:

Suhagi has been with Storming robots since 2008. She is teaching exploratory nanotechnology, and roboclub concentrating in the science track, while studying as a PhD student in biomedical sciences. She has a passion for research and teaching with focus in problem solving, team work and critical thinking.

Kathleen Morris

Kate has been our instructor since 2007. She is  a  Certified Teacher specializing in Biological/Life Science.  She is currently a Physical Science teacher at the Hillsborough Middle School.  She earned her .B.S in Environmental Science from Rutgers University.

Dharati Patel:

Dharati is responsible for our MicroBotics (2nd-3rd grades), as well as our Grade 4-6 beginner level.  Being a certified Elementary School Teacher, Dharati strives to motivate children to learn while having fun, as well as build the appreciation in disciplines. She stresses the importance of having children think critically and wants them to have a meaningful experience using a hands-on method of learning. Dharati is a graduate from the Kean University with B.S. in Education.

Garrick Lau

Garrick helps in instructor role.   Garrick, like most of our roboclub students, has superb stellar academic record. He is 110% effort type of individual. Among his long list of achievement, the latest include:
- Fulfilled criteria for the AP Scholar with Distinction in Junior year.
- Editor in Chief for his high school's awarding winning newspaper "The Lamp".
- Accepted by the Cornell University and will major in Mechanical Engineering.

Matthew Goldman

Matthew helps in  instructor  role. He is  a self-professed "computer geek". He consistently earned the highest academic honors at school. Among his long list of achievements, the latest include :
- Top scorer on the American Mathematics Competition 10 (AMC 10) at Bernards High
- Scored in the top ten percent on the New Jersey Science League Chemistry 1 Test.
He is also an accomplished musician.  Being one of our top roboclub members at Storming Robots, Matthew has played the captain role in his numerous robotic competitions since 2005.  He also led  a winning team in 2008 FLL, as well as in the 2010 RobocupJunior.

Michelle Metallo

Michelle has been our wonderful Administrator since 2008. She retired from a financial managerial role to be a full-time mother of three young children. At her spare time, Michelle has offered her professional help in keeping Storming Robots' administrative work and policies in order.  Michelle earned  her MS in statistics from Rutgers University.


 
Our past workshops instructors/assistants
Traits that are common in all of our workshops assistants:
  • meeting academic excellence is simply one of the many other goals.
  • possessing great passion in computer technology and robotics;
  • working as our assistant even during the school year as well, not just the summer;
  • ability to exert the energy of trying your best attitude;
  • fully appreciative of challenging fun from robotics. No surprise there because they themselves once were  Storming Robots students.
Kevin Fritz - Our past computer science student and instructor assistant. Kevin, like most of our roboclub students, has superb stellar academic record.  He graduates from High School in 2010, and will enter University of Pennsylvania.  

Gawain Lau - Our past roboclub member and instructor. Gawain, like most of our roboclub students, has superb stellar academic record.  He graduated from High School in 2009, and has entered University of Pennsylvania.  

Johnny Wang - Our past roboclub student and instructor.  Like most of our roboclub students, was an honor student in high school.   He graduated from high school in 2008, and has entered Lehigh University.

James Wittel - Our past roboclub member and instructor assistant. His many robotics competition achievements have earned him scholarship to study at NJIT Summer Engineering program.  He is also a teen-entrepreneur. He owns and runs his own company called JPEX Production (a photography/videoing firm), as well as create a small web farm for his friends at his basement.



General Qualification of Instructors
There have been a few other temporary part-time instructors who worked for Storming Robots.  All instructors and counselors must meet the following criteria:
  • Pass the criminal background check
  • Already have had or currently pursue Bachelor Degree in science or education.
  • Have outstanding academic records.
  • Have credential in their experience working with children, such as past camp counselors, teachers, etc..
Qualification of Camp/Class Assistants
All camp assistants are required to:
  • pass the criminal background check.
  • have outstanding academic background.
  • have experience in robotics, either robotics club or competition.
  • have experience working with younger children.
